Rob van Hove, CEO Terberg Special Vehicles

I have been working in the port and logistics business for over 30 years. After living and working in the Port of Rotterdam area for 13 years, my family and I moved to Zeewolde in 2012.

I am 57 years old, born in Voorburg, the Netherlands and I’m married to Sylvia. We have two children, Sem and Britt and we like to travel around the world as a family.

My focus is to grow the Terberg Special Vehicles business globally, especially in logistics, to secure our long term position in the port and logistics industry. We will face more competition in the coming years and we should differentiate ourselves by rapidly introducing product developments to the market, focussing on tractors with zero and low emission drivelines, with a the level of automation be required by our customers . But the most important differentiator should be our after-sales. The competition can copy our products but they cannot copy our service, our people.

Our global production capacity will be further increased to meet the growing demands on all continents. So there is still a lot to be organised and reorganised to realise this. Especially in Benschop, changes will be made to better meet the demands of our distributors and customers.

In my spare time, I like to make time available to do something for society. That's why I joined the Lions Club in Zeewolde. From 2010 – 2016, I have been closely involved in turning the Kuiken Groep (750 FTE) around from near bankruptcy to a profitable company again. I also worked for Kalmar from 2003 – 2010 where I was responsible for the global expansion of all after-sales activities (2500 FTE) worldwide. One of the most important things I learned during that period was to present the objectives, plans and results clearly to all personnel, and discuss these with them. If you do that, then together you can make the impossible come true. Before that I worked at Caterpillar Pon Power (NL, SWE, NOR, DK) for 13 years. There I had the opportunity to work in a range of roles in a sales and manufacturing business: from buyer to project manager, from salesman to quality manager.

Frank Oerlemans, Export Manager Terberg Benschop

Once upon a time (80’s), I was studying Automotive Engineering in Apeldoorn, Holland. I decided to spend one of my trainee periods in the Terberg engineering department with Ronald van Zoelen.

After my graduation I was offered by George a position as sales support in the sales department, which I gladly took to gain experience and have a good start of my career.

A couple of years later a position to become the sales representative for the road trucks in the South of Holland and the terminal- / RoRo tractors for all of Holland became available. I took that opportunity with both hands.

Many years later (2006) a position as Export manager became available, giving me the responsibility for the sales in general for Terberg. It was at that time I also joined the management team of Terberg in Benschop.

These distributor days I will be your host and will do my utmost to make sure you will spend a couple of interesting days, with lots of fun, old and new contacts and some relaxation as usual. The ultimate goal is to send you home a lot wiser, feeling even more connected to our company and our products but most of all; happy!

We have a humble beginning and have ever since grown into a market leader in Asia Pacific, having delivered more than 6000 units Terberg terminal tractors from our factory located in Pasir Gudang to the market.

I am currently serving as the Head of Sales & Marketing for TTM with a dedicated team supporting our customers, dealers and partners across the world.

Eric Dijkema, Key Account Manager Lubricants Shell

Working for a fuel company, with mainly fossil solutions, we understand we have to play our role in the energy change. Remy and I would like to take you up on this road and look were we are standing and what the possibilities are for the future fuels for Special Trucks and their customers.

Jan Vink, Export Sales Terberg Benschop

Since February 2023, I’ve been working for Terberg at the Sales/export department and I am managing the North & Latam America region, as well as a part of the Product Management. But I am not new in this business, because before Terberg I worked 16 years for Kalmar-Ottawa. The first 9 years I worked there as a sales manager for the Dutch sales office where I was selling Kalmar mobile equipment (reachstackers, heavy forklift trucks and terminal tractors). After that, I switched to the so-called “Terminal Tractor Product Line”, based in Kansas (USA), where I focused on terminal tractor Product Management, as well as the sales in the EMEA region.

I am 59 years old, have 2 grown-up daughters (Esmeralda & Carmen) and a partner (Elizabeth). In my time off, I’m quite active with running, dancing, DIY and playing music. And I like to travel around, because there are so many nice countries around the world, and I like speaking foreign languages and getting to know new cultures.

I took up my position as Head of Sales and Rental of Terberg Spezialfahrzeuge GmbH on 01 July 2021. Former projects:

Finance: projects such as setting up controlling systems, restructuring several sales and service organisations in Germany and Scandinavia, improving the reporting periods and setting up IFRS standards.

Sales: challenges such as setting up a CRM system, raising the market penetration, employee recruitment and setting up a new site for the entire sales of used trucks in northern Germany, increasing exports to 32 countries

Jordie Landegent, Area Sales Manager TBB

Recently, I joined the Terberg sales team as Account Manager for Eastern Europe and Spain. I have already connected with a large group of distributors via mail or Teams and these Distributor Days will give me the opportunity to finally meet everyone in person.

Like many of Terberg employees, I also have an automotive background. I studied Automotive engineering at the University of Applied Science in Arnhem. In the first part of my study I focused on engineering and for the second part of the study I focused on business management. This combination fits well with the role I currently have at Terberg.

Previously, I worked at a company that produces vehicles for the primary and secondary aluminium industry. In my role as Technical Sales Support Engineer I guided and structured the sales process. Later I also acted as overall planner.

I like to use my spare time for sports. I use my evenings for weight lifting and road cycling. In the weekends I like to spend my time in the kitchen - I am a big fan of Ottolenghi. It’s a bit of an unusual combination but it helps to keep the balance. I am also a big music fan. I love to spend my time in record stores and find a new LP (vinyl) for my collection. And of course I try to attend as many concerts and festivals as I can.

Arne Tänzer, Business Development and Sales Terberg Benschop

After graduating in automotive engineering back in 2011, where I was involved in the hydrogen power train technology, I joined the Oil, Gas and Energy sector. Here I improved, innovated and implemented more efficient and economically more attractive technologies. I was mainly responsible for sales and acquisition in Europe, South-East Asia and the Middle East I learned that new technologies need to be supported by the right story before the market will accept them.

My passion for automotive led me to Terberg where I can combine technology, market needs and collaboration with people (you) in my current role as Business Development and Sales representative at Terberg Benschop. For the last 2.5 years I've been part of the customer journey to implement new technologies, making their operations more efficient, reliable and with less impact on the environment. Let’s continue on this road together.

When I'm not at work I like to spent time with Onne, my 1 year old son, or fly my hang glider (no engine) during one of the national or international competitions. Exploring new countries and scenery from the sky and comparing myself with others during a competition day while flying over 100 km using only the heat from the sun.

Patrick van Leeuwen, Sales Engineer TBB

I studied automotive engineering and did an internship at Terberg’s Engineering department. I joined the company in 1998. Back in 2001, I graduated as an automotive engineer in Arnhem, The Netherlands. In 2011, I moved from this Japanese company to Valvoline, a US-based company where my focus was on anti-corrosion solutions for automotive, train and aerospace OEM customers. Here my role was a combination of marketing, sales and setting up/managing distributor networks in Europe. During the course of time I got in contact with Terberg and one thing led to another.

Since 2019 I have been working at Terberg in the role of Business Development Manager at the factory in Benschop. In this role I mainly focus on automation and driverless operations. Besides this I also work on alternative energy options for our machines.

In my spare time I like to go outside and be active: playing football, cycling, hiking with my sons and partner. We like to go camping and exploring new locations and experiences together. I enjoy social life with friends as well as going out to music festivals and sports events.
