The RT253EV is Terberg’s first electric four-wheel drive tractor specifically developed for RoRo operations in ferries. It enables our customers to reduce their CO2 footprint and gives operatives inside ferries and on the dock a quieter and cleaner environment. The RT253EV is also suitable for specific industrial environments which require all-wheel drive, such as rough terrain.

Developing three generations of electric YTs has given Terberg a lot of experience and this new RT benefits from that. The effective regeneration system responds to changes in GCW (i.e. driving with or without a trailer) to minimise the energy consumption and brake wear. The CeTrax asynchronous motor eliminates the need for a gearbox, giving your driver a smoother ride and further reducing maintenance effort.

Your Terberg distributor can advise you about the configuration options. The final reduction ratio of the axles can be selected to optimise the vehicle for your application, depending on the load, gradients and required speed.

Terberg has already given many demonstrations with the new RT253EV at RoRo ports in the Netherlands, Belgium, the UK and Scandinavia. Feedback has been very favourable - potential customers were impressed by the pulling power and smooth drive. They also commented that the lack of fumes and lower noise create a much better work environment inside ferries. This has already resulted in a significant number of orders, so production slots are filling up quickly.
