The Port of Damietta is one of the main ports in Egypt. The new Damietta Alliance Container Terminal can handle the latest generation of container vessels. It offers ship-to-shore gantry cranes reaching 25 rows across deck, deep water berths and the latest handling equipment. DACT has invested in 100 Terberg terminal and 4 RoRo tractors. Andreas Russler, DACT COO "Terberg has been chosen based on past experience, fuel consumption, reputation and an attractive economic package. A local support network for spares is an additional advantage to the terminal."

The tractors and support are provided by Terberg distributor Kabadaya Specialized Equipment. Their General Manager, Kareem Hozaifa, commented "In today’s fast-moving and highly dynamic market - where short-lifecycle tractor competition is rising - DACT’s choice of Terberg heavy-duty tractors reflects a wise and economic assessment, prioritising fleet strength quality, low running costs and minimal downtime. We wish DACT a safe and successful operation.

Additionally, we are especially pleased that delivering this new strategic project coincides with the celebration of the 33-year partnership between Terberg and Kabadaya. The combination of Terberg’s industry-leading expertise and Kabadaya’s dedicated local service in Egypt has resulted in more than 600 tractors supplied so far.
