Terberg has upgraded its BC Swap Body Carrier (BC183) with a completely new cabin, stage V certified engine and a range of smaller improvements. In addition, the fully electric body carrier model (BC202-EV), introduced in 2020, is also available.

The Terberg BC183 Body Carrier excels at shunting swap bodies at distribution centres, due to its agility and small turning circle. The new spacious cab has an ergonomic design to optimise operator convenience. The improved cab suspension is particularly comfortable and the joystick controls are conveniently placed next to the driver's seat.

The overhead storage bin and storage compartments in the new dashboard are easily accessible and highly functional. The large windows are slightly angled which gives the driver excellent visibility in all directions and prevents distracting reflections. Again, Terberg offers shunting drivers the best ergonomics and comfort in all respects.

The design accommodates a range of swap body types and there are several options for locking the bodies to the vehicle. BC units can optionally be fitted with a lifting fifth wheel to handle semitrailers.

Terberg designed the vehicle to give service engineers even quicker and easier access to the mechanical and electronic components than before. For example, the entire dashboard can be removed or refitted in minutes. Similarly, covers, bumpers and windows are easily replaceable if they are damaged. The efficient design reduces the time and cost of maintenance and repairs.

The new electronics architecture is based on the CAN bus and supports future updates over the air. With the Terberg Connect software users can gather valuable operational data from the vehicles to optimise their fleet management. This makes it possible to track vehicle movements and schedule preventive maintenance to maximise the availability of the vehicles.

Production of the BC183 is expected to start at the end of July 2021.
