Tarkett Netherlands has taken a new Terberg YT203-EV terminal truck into operation at their central warehouse in Waalwijk, the Netherlands. Tarkett is a worldwide leader in flooring solutions and sports surfaces, active in over 100 countries with more than 30 production sites across the world.

As a manufacturer, sustainability is a top priority at Tarkett. The Terberg YT203-EV is a perfect match for the 2020 Sustainability Roadmap that Tarkett deployed throughout the entire organization. Supply Chain Manager Michiel van Trijen: “To meet our sustainability goals, we choose electric over diesel for our logistics. The Terberg YT203-EV turned out to be the best option in the market because of the expertise of Terberg, the range and the well proven tractor concept. The warehouse of Prologis will be equipped with solar panels to power up the electric yard truck.”

The electric truck will perform about 10 shunting routes per day from the manufacturing location to the warehouse location, 1,5 km away. Tarkett chose a total battery capacity of 148 kWh, which is more than enough for the daily workload.
